What is Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction, sometimes also called spiritual accompaniment or spiritual companionship, is a process for exploring your connection with what you experience as God, Spirit, Truth, Great Mystery – however you express and understand the Sacred in your life. Spiritual direction cultivates your ability to discern Sacredness in your life, to notice and appreciate moments of holiness, to maintain an awareness of the interconnectedness of all things, to explore ways to be open to the Divine in challenging moments as well as in joyful ones.
My role is to serve as a spiritual mirror, listening in a sacred way and prompting where I can reflect the Divine spark in what is being shared. I may refer to teachings from my hashpa’ah (Hebrew for Spiritual Direction) lineage as well as my experience with men’s work and nature-based practices. Letting nature be a guide and a modality for Spiritual Direction is a particular joy of mine in addition to “traditional” direction. You can read more about the nature-basis of my Spiritual Direction here.
Types of Spiritual Direction
Individual Direction
In this time of COVID, all sessions are being held virtually through Zoom. We can introduce nature-based practices asynchronously as homework, so to speak, if desired.
Ethics and Confidentiality
I adhere to the Spiritual Directors International and the Aleph Alliance for Jewish Renewal codes of ethics. Anything shared in the confines of spiritual direction is held strictly confidential. In fact, I will not even share that I am working with you.
